Blog #5

Since my last update, I have gotten a lot done for my project and everything finally seems like it is coming together! This past Saturday, I went to a craft show in Harrisburg with my friend and her aunt to sell my bracelets I made. It was called the 2025 Harrisburg Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair hosted at the Dauphin County Technical School. My friend Chloe's Aunt Karen sold her knitted hats at the station while Chloe and I got a little corner of her stand to put our bracelets on. We ended up selling a good amount of bracelets for $5.00 each and made a lot of money. We still need to total up everything and split it between the two of us but, I will keep you guys updated when I find out how much I can donate to my charity, Alex's Lemonade Stand in hopes of finding a cure for pediatric cancer.

As much as I would love to go to another craft show, I am not sure the timing is going to work out to do it before my 20% project ends. But, just in case, over winter break I plan to make more bracelets for the next craft show I attend, even if it is after the project is over. For now, I am very happy with how everything is going and I think my first craft show was an overall success. I can't wait to put down my donation with the profit I earned and watch everything come together.

Blog #4

Since the last time I updated you guys, not a ton has happened. I have pretty much just been practicing the styles I know and trying to add more bracelets to my collection. I attempted to learn how to make a Chinese staircase string bracelet which is a more difficult type, but it did not turn out very good. I followed a YouTube video but went wrong somewhere and it did not look how I wanted it to.

I did end up getting a craft show on the schedule. My friend Chloe sells bracelets at craft shows with her aunt, so I will be joining her at the next one! She focuses on selling clay bead bracelets at the shows, so I have been helping her make more. I am going to bring some bracelets for the craft show and she is going to bring some, and then we will split the profits we make there. It is taking place next weekend so I will update you guys when that happens.

In the upcoming weeks my plan is to continue making bracelets until I am out of materials and grow my collection. Hopefully when I go to the craft show, I can make my first amount of money for my charity. One thing I didn't end up getting to this week was making an Instagram to start selling online. I was more focused on physically making the products but that is still something on my list that I would like to do at some point.
