Blog #3

Just like my last blog, I don't have a ton to update you guys on for this blog. The past two weeks have just been continuing making my bracelets, and learning different ways in order to add variety to my shop. I accomplished making another candy striped bracelet with string and I also learned how to make a new bracelet with string called a Chevron. In order to do this, I followed the steps on the website attached, and watched the videos. It was definitely a lot harder than the candy stripe so it took me a little bit longer to get the hang of this one.

Along with learning a new style, I also continued making the bracelets in the varieties that I have already. For example, I made one more candy striped bracelet and one more clay bead bracelet. I have still been staying on track with my plan to make them in pink and yellow. So far, I have had enough materials to make the bracelets so I haven't had to go out and get more.

Something that is still on my list to get done is making an Instagram so I can not only sell them at craft shows, but also online. In the future, I am going to continue to create more bracelets and plan out some events that I can sell my bracelets at!

Blog #2

Since my last update, not a ton has happened but my project is coming along well and seems to be going on the right track. I just continued doing what I was doing and learned new things so far.

I made a trip to Michaels and bought a couple rolls of string. I went with white, yellow, and pink to start. On top of that, I started learning how to make basic string bracelets by searching up YouTube videos and following along with their instructions. The first style bracelet I learned to do is called a candy stripe. It is pretty basic, you just take as many colors as you want, and knot them as they align in diagonal stripes. So far, that is the only type of string bracelet I have learned to make, but I am hoping to learn how to make a Chevron string bracelet sometime in the future.

As far as my clay bead bracelets are going, I just used my materials to make more bracelets in the past 2 weeks. Right now my count is at 4 bracelets, 2 yellow and 2 pink, and they all have different inspirational sayings and words on them. I haven't gotten the chance to sell them at any craft shows yet, but am hoping to do so when I have more made in the future. I also would like to get a little shop going online, maybe on Instagram or Facebook. My friend sells bracelets on those social media platforms so my plan is to ask her for advice on how to set that up. Until then, I am going to keep making bracelets and try and learn to make different styles!
